A replacement trackpad module compatible with the Apple MacBook Air 13" A2681 (M2, 2022). The usual cure for a pad that has stopped clicking, tracks erratically or has cracked glass.

Before you order

• Specifications — compare the size and outline of the pad, the connector type and whether the flex cable is included (the title says so; otherwise your existing cable transfers across).
• Variations — where more than one colour is offered, choose the variation that suits your palmrest; the trackpad is a visible part of the machine.
• Images — check the photos for the finish and the cable position, and compare them with your existing pad.

• Rule this out first — a swollen battery pressing from below causes many "failed" trackpads. If the pad sits proud of the case or clicks poorly along one edge, check the battery before ordering a trackpad.

Fitting

Trackpads mount beneath the palmrest on small screws, with a ribbon cable to the board. Alignment matters for an even click: seat the pad loosely, centre it in its cut-out, then tighten gradually while checking the click feel.
