Gateway MX7520 parts

Gateway's MX line was the company's mainstream consumer notebook range of the mid-2000s, from the years before Acer bought the brand in 2007, and the MX75 series is one of its closely numbered sub-ranges. That numbering matters: the MX60, MX70 and MX80 sub-ranges are separate builds with few parts in common, and the later NV-series Gateways from the Acer era are a different platform again, so the model number on the base of the laptop needs matching exactly. For the MX75 series the parts carried run well beyond screens, with batteries, keyboards, palmrests, hinges, lids and bezels, DC jacks and cooling fans all covering the wear items older machines tend to need. The model list on this page shows what suits each variant in the series. Parts can be picked up from the Maidstone workshop in Melbourne, or the laptop left there for repair.

With the laptop powered off and the battery disconnected, the bezel unclips or is held in with screws, the old panel is removed by either unscrewing or removing tape and the cables get transferred across to the new one. Work on a soft, static-free environment, hold the panel by its edges and NEVER force the connector.
